OUR PROCESS
We are excited by the prospect of creating something spectacular with you. Knowing a designer’s process offers clarity and helps you make informed desisions. Here is an overview of what you can expect from working with us.
BRANDING PROCESS
Onboarding
Let’s get started! We’ll kick off our partnership by sending you a branding questionnaire and a free 30 minute intake call invite. On our call we’ll go over your questionnaire and ask some follow up questions to get more insight on your goals and vision. After that, we’ll walk through our branding packages and find out which one best suites your needs and budget. After our call we’ll send over a quote with pricing and deliverables. With your green light, we’ll get the official contract prepped and in your hands. After receiving your deposit, we’ll get things going.
Strategy
Bringing it all into focus. During our onboarding call we will get to know you and find out how you want to be (or not to be) perceived. We then take a hands on approach full of curiosity, based on research and insight. We look into your industry, competitor brands, and your target audience. After having an expansive view of your company and the stage in which it exists we explore how to best create visuals that will resonate with your client base to make sure your brand identity is unique and stands out to consumers.
Creative Direction
After onboarding and strategy we will have a stronger sense of who your business is as a brand. With that information, we’ll gather inspiration for possible creative directions for your brand identity. We will have a second meeting to discus what you like and dislike about the creative directions to make sure we are on the path that best suits your desired outcome. These creative directions help us get on the same page and hone in the look and feel for your brand.
Brand Build
This is where your brand comes to life! Taking the approved creative direction, we’ll get to work. As pieces of your brand are ready, we’ll set up quick comunications to hear your thoughts (it’s normal to go through several revisions) . We’ll refine each iteration until your brand has the style and tone that resonates with you, leaving you confident that your business is set to look its best.
Brand Guide
Once everything is finalized and approved, we’ll package it all up into your brand guide and give you a final walk through. Your brand book is a comprehensive guide on how to use your brand- new assets: logos, colors, fonts, voice, visual elements, do’s and don’ts. Everything your brand needs to spread it wings and be limitless!
Offboarding
This where your brand can take flight! The invoice is sent out and all files are sent over via Google Drive upon receipt of final payment. You’ll also get an offboarding doc explaining the types of files you’ll be receiving, how to find them, and when to use them.
If you run into any additional questions on how to use your assets you are always welcome to reach out and ask. We strive to maintain long-term partnerships with our clients and are always happy to see how we can further support you.
GRAPHIC DESIGN PROCESS
Onboarding
Let’s get started! We’ll kick off our partnership by setting up a 30 minute intake call to discuss your design project. We’ll ask some questions about your goals for the project, how it will be used, and talk through your budget. After our call we’ll send over a quote with pricing and deliverables. With your green light, we’ll get the official contract prepped and in your hands. Once we receive your deposit, we’ll get things going. If there’s any elements you need included, you’ll send them our way once the contract is signed.
First Draft
With your goals and key design elements in hand, we’ll get started with the first version of the design. Why call out a first version? Very rarely is any design considered final on the first go! We’ll get you a semi-polished first draft to get your feedback on the layout and direction of the work.
Review
Speaking of feedback, we’re going to be asking for your thoughts on the design first draft. What’s working? What’s not? We’ll be looking for specific feedback like, “Blue is in our brand book, but it’s not giving the right feel to this project. Let’s try another color.” Getting this kind of nitty gritty feedback will help us make your project look its best!
Revision
Armed with your feedback, we’ll head back to the drawing board, tweaking and touching up to get to the next version of the project.
Rinse & Repeat
Yep, we’re calling it early. There may be multiple revisions, and that’s completely normal. Two to three rounds of review and revision is pretty standard. Chances are good this stage will get shorter the more we work together and get to know each other.
Offboarding
This is where we’ll wrap up the project. The invoice is sent out and all files are sent over via Google Drive upon receipt of final payment. If printed assets are part of your project, we’ll pop those in the mail.
MOTION GRAPHICS PROCESS
Onboarding
We’ll kick off your design project by setting up a free 30 minute intake call. We’ll ask some questions about your goals for the project, how it will be used, and talk through your budget. After our call we’ll send over a quote with pricing and deliverables. If you’re on board, then we’ll get the official contract prepped and in your hands. Once we receive your deposit, we’ll get things going. If there’s any elements you need included, you’ll send them our way once the contract is signed.
Script & VO
Before any graphics spring into motion, we’ll write up the script for the project. Getting a solid script in place, and the accompanying voice over, will guide the pace of the animation and determine the visuals that will be on screen. We’ll go through a review and revision process to lock the script down before getting the voice over recorded. Already have a script and voice over track? No need for a voice over? Perfect, we’ll move to our next stage with a storyboard!
Storyboard
Intentional organization up front makes for a clean and on target project. In this case, that organization is in the form of a polished storyboard. We’ll craft the visuals and lay them out for you frame by frame. This will give us a chance to hear your feedback on the visual design and the flow of the project before the first pixels take flight. It may take a couple rounds of review and revisions to get the storyboard locked in.
Rough Animation
The moment you’ve been waiting for: your ideas showcased in beautiful motion! We’ll start animating the visuals, working on transitions from frame to frame, timing things out with the voice over, and add in background music to boost the ambiance of the piece.
Revisions
We’ll send over the rough animation for your review. This won’t be the final, super polished animation and that’s on purpose. We want to get your thoughts on the transitions, how things are moving, and the overall timing of the animation. Any changes to those things are easiest done before that final layer of polish is added. We fully expect a couple of rounds of revisions, it’s completely normal for two to three rounds to happen before we reach a final product.
Offboarding
This is where we’ll wrap up the project. The invoice is sent out and all files are sent over via Google Drive upon receipt of final payment.
